Oil on Birch Panel
30″ x 24″ / 76 x 60 cm

The sketch for what became this painting was done in Moscow. I had never painted snow though I relished the challenge as I like to interpret everything I create in a unique way. I imagined being inside the isolated cabin with a beautiful view and a fire to thwart the cold. A path disguised by snow meanders through the mountains and pine trees, each rendered differently. This oil painting on canvas stretched over a birch panel (also from Russia) measures 24 x 30 inch and is framed by a moulding that is reminiscent of the pale yellow sky.
