A secret place
This painting started as “a grisaille’, the grey undercoat painters often apply prior to introducing colors. But I like it so much in black and white that I kept it this way. I am often drawn by beautiful places in nature that are isolated with a magnificent view. Here, I imagine myself sitting in the shade of the tall tree on the rocky terrace. Softly blended, this piece has a unique appeal, personal and poetic with a waterfall and a lake in the background. This oil painting on canvas stretched over a birch panel measures 24 x 30 inch and is framed by a moulding that recalls the grey landscape.
