I started with pen and ink drawing and graduated to color. An ink pen and a sheet of paper are enough to create a beautiful drawing where the diversity of ink strokes and techniques replace colors and a myriad of details conveys realism and dimension. Some of my larger ink drawings take many months of work where progress is measured in centimeters. Like Dali, Picasso, Honoré Daumier, Edward Gorey and the Japanese and Chinese landscape romantic painters, I find pen and ink to be the most intimate of all mediums. Many art collectors purchase pen and inks for their unique classical quality. I was represented for many years by the Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco which exhibited the first drawings by M.C. Escher in the US.
